CD will not eject. Please help

My new apple powermac 7100/66 came with a Bookshelf 94 Cd which I installed
and runs well. Now it refuses to eject the CD. I tried dragging the icon to
the trash but it says the item is being shared and can not be put away. I
closed all other programs and emptied the clipboard and it still does not
eject the CD.
Please help. The freefone number at apple seems to be busy all the time.
