I agree with Walker. I was talking to one of the Science teachers at
school about a project his class was going to do with designing
environment polution stacks/etc. They have the camera and all for the
Mac to do some neat stuff. Anyway, the point was they are also going to
have a net hookup so that they can read through a news group with other
schools which are doing this.
He kind of sighed and told me "The district really wants to get involved
in this, but I read about 60% of everything on the internet is
Pornographic. Is this the image we reflect to the public?
Really, I think this whole arguement here is uncalled for. I can see the
point in it, but doubt that either way it will make much difference. How
many news groups are there? How many people in CS programs in schools
read the Apple2 news groups? If a school has money for a CS program
w/internet hookup, they will have enough to buy them 486es, etc. They'll
all be IBMatized, and won't even care about the 90 IIes around the school.
