The 256Mb limit is because each partition on the drive has a limit
of 32 Mb ... 32Mb x 8 = 256Mb.  Actually, u can modify the installer
that came with the IDE card and set the limit to some arbitrarily
large value.  I did that and I have a 75Mb partition on my 210Mb
IDE HD.  Doing that, I guess u could actually have a HD > 256Mb.
If u do that though, u'll have to use that partition as a HFS partition.
