Hmm, seek mental help ...why didn't I think of that? Oh, wait!
They *were* seeking mental help! Actually the case where I was involved
the people *were* in counseling for having been raped. Some of them really
and truly kill themselves because they feel so miserable. All of them are
trying to avoid being victimized again or reaching such a despondant level
that they kill themselves. This was a *support* forum for such people.
Are you familiar with the idea of a support forum? Its a place where people
who suffer from a condition can go to help work out their problems. So, yes
they were seeking mental help, and that forum was part of that help.
What part of my paragraph above didn't you understand?
The person who I, in my immaturity and with others, filed complaints
against sent a mass mailing to suicidal people telling them to kill
themselves. None of us had ever spoken to or heard of this individual
before. He didn't post this. He collected their e-mail addresses
and sent to their home systems, intimate and personal. This is equivalent
to burning a cross on someone's front lawn, not ridiculing them in a public
forum. This was an assault. This was not a joke. A joke involves a
punch line and not a punch. A punch line dispels tensions and provides
common, shared laughter. Tormenting someone is not a joke. People who
feel the need to torment people are also in need of mental help.
Having been victimized when I was a child (though not raped ...I managed to
escape) now that I am an adult I tend to hit back. Call it a quirk. Also
I do not participate in alt.sex.abuse.recovery but in one of the other
forums that was targeted. I do not apologize.

Say fuck all you want. That wasn't the source of the complaint in my case.
Say anything you want to publically and I won't complain. You might end up
in my kill-file, but I won't complain. You have the right and I will
defend your right to express yourself publically to the death.
>Why do you think there are moderated forums?
The forums in question were moderated. That wasn't the issue. The issue
was the person in question was in effect stalking and harrassing people via
e-mail simply because they were either victims of abuse in real life or
belonged to groups the perpetrayor disliked. Do you support terrorists?
Hardly! Was this person a terrorist ...well that's a bit strong, so no,
I don't think he was. I think he was a pissant and a fool to risk his
account by engaging in activity that virtually 99.9% of all providers ban.
>People not wanting to risk seeing foul language should read only
>moderated groups!
>---Guion
Again, the forums (some of them at least) in question were moderated.
My case and the case the original poster complained about are not similar.
My only point in replying to him was yes, there are some terms of service
agreements out there that *some*, not all service providers make their
users sign. Therefore the original poster might get burned if they let
their emotions push them to something they might regret in a cooler moment.
I was not advocating that they lose their privileges. I was merely
answering truthfully that there *might* be some danger to their account,
depending on what the agreement was for service between themselves and
their provider. I was saying free speech is not absolute, particularly if
you don't own your own printing press of net connection.
>PS. any P.C.wantabe thought police feel free to complain
>If I get warned I know I'm with the wrong Provider!
Ah! Exactly my point above. See, you do understand! Relax, chill out.
You or your freedoms were not being threatened. They are my freedoms too
after all.
