Re: IRC #AppleIIGS - It's for the birds

shit (sorry Joe) which has been going on within the last who-
knows-how-many posts.
You're entitled to your "facts," so i'm entitled to mine, as is
every other human being, despite the differences in information.
"Fact" is what we make it; it's taken me too long to realize it.
We all live in our own reality, and in this case, our realities
are completely conflicting. Where the hell is a mental-bridge
when I need one.
You're standing up for specific people; ones who *YOU* consider
worthwhile. I consider the majority of the "regulars" on #Apple-
IIGS worthwhile and considerate: all of us, them, or whatever
you wanna call it.
Most of the people from #AppleIIGS that you listed in your previous
post are those whom I consider friends, some of them closer than
others. Either way, they're respectible people... I usually don't
put someone "above" everyone else, but in this case, I consider it
be necissary, just because this person means something to me.
I'd like to bring up Ian. Ian's been a great friend to me, and,
well, due to my pessimistic and "difficult-to-deal-with" attitude,
he's one of 2 people who I know who really understand me and accept
me for who I am, rather than throw me off the train for "being
different."
I'm assuming by now, you're going to say "Your personal friendship
has nothing to do with this entire ordeal" - ironically, Jawaid, it
does. You sit and name of people on #AppleIIGS who YOU like and
who YOU think are "worthwhile," and, well, even "heroic" in a sense.
Therefore, why can't I?
Of all people to smash down others, Jawaid, honestly, you wouldn't
have been on the top of my list; you've always shook a finger in
my face saying "Grow up" and "You need to get some responsibility"
and "You're so screwed in the head with your reasoning! I wish you'd
get a grip" (summaries, of course), and you ALMOST convinced me
that it was *ME* who needed to change... you almost got what you
wanted, but you didn't; i'm too stubborn. :-)
I can't stand to watch someone smash my friends to bits because
someone can't get along with them... Sheesh.
You say you have "few enemies" - to put the record straight, Jawaid,
I have a tendancy to think you're gaining more and more by every
byte you say/type. I don't want to see this happen, to anyone. I
may be pessimistic, but I sure can't stand to see someone turn
the world into a crappy place for other human beings because of
some sortof attitude of "I'm right, and you're wrong. That's how
it'll be, always."
...you mention that if someone on #AppleIIGS attempts to stand up
for the "victims," that they're discriminated against and called
"bad names" - I have yet to see YOU stand up for the victims. If
you wanna talk about being victimized, look around the Apple II
community as we speak, Jawaid. Please.
I always respected your principles, and even from time to time,
heeded them and "made them my own" for a temporary time. I've
been torn down just for having a different sexual preference than
everyone else; how do you think *I* feel by being ridiculed all
the time for being myself? Maybe now you'll understand...
One last thing i'd like to quote:
: To anyone who still wants to talk about the Apple IIGS on IRC,
: my nick is 'bazyar'. Just "/msg bazyar Hello!" and we can start
: a conversation (maybe even set up a permanent channel) that
: _actually_ contains IIGS-related talk besides Ian's latest
: high-handed moral condemnation of my work priorities.
Jawaid, every time i've MSGd you on IRC with "Heya... can I talk
to ya for a sec?" you rarely reply; with an idle time of about
5-10 seconds. I've rarely "gotten thru" to you, since you and I
would always fight and argue and bicker; like children, if you
will. I rarely let up, because you never once even looked at things
from my side. I hate to rag on you and make your life worse than
it is now, but you never once, atleast in my eyes and in my heart,
looked at MY side of things... no matter *WHAT* it was.
(sigh) I learned a real good lesson from Richard... Rich and I got
into an argument one night (my fault, actually. I was in one of
my "moods"), and Rich said "The truth hurts, huh?" - Rich's right.
It does hurt. Pain is something all humans should feel; if one
cannot feel pain, one is not human.
I have empathy for you in what's going on right now, Jawaid, but
let me set the rules straight: I will NOT permit you to tear my
friends apart, no matter how different you and them may be. Yeah,
they can stick up for themselves: but there's one thing that won't
change for ahwile; they're my friends, and they mean something to me.
I doubt my post is going to make you think any differently, and
that's fine; it's good to stand firm on what you feel, and I re-
spect that, honestly I do... but please, guy, try to understand
that the people you're discussing/arguing/shaking-sticks at are
people, Jawaid, people. People like you and, people who have feelings,
people who mean something to one another.
Maybe my post is a bit out-of-line, or even a bit too harsh or sym-
pathetic (or just pathetic :-) ): but it's me, people, and it's
the truth from my eyes.
