More on that &$*#( ! StyleWriter Driver

Hopefully you will a remeber me form my previous posts about having trouble
with a new StyleWriter.

First I wasnt to thank everyone for all of the answers & suggestions, so
far I have learned alot and I have definately made some progress in getting
this thing to work.

My origina problem was that the printer dirver would report a "Serious
Error"  99.9% of the time  tried to print. After recieving many hints &
suggestions I tried Re-installing the driver, shift booting, increasin
available memory, decreasing printing resolution, etc etc.  I tried every
possible combination of Printer Port configurations all to no avail.

FINALLY I made some progress when I treid printing with manual feed, as it
was about the oonly thing I hadn't tried.  I worked FLAWLESSLY every time.

What _appears_(to me) to be happening, is that in automatic feed, the
printer rolls "forward about 1 1/2 revolutins, then rolls back 1/4 turn to
set the sheet feeder, then rolls forward again tto pull in the paper.  It
is almost as if the printer dirver is getting impatient and not waiting pro
tne paper to feed in, so it return an error.  The sheet feeding process
takes about 7-8 secs, but the computer only seems willing to wait about 3
secs befor giving up. 

I have taken apart the sheet feeder, and I know for sure that it is working
properly.  Do I have that wrong cable or someting?  I know i have enough
memory, the driver if from 6.0.1 ,and the printer port settings ar all set
'normal' except the port speeed is at 19200.

SO, does _anyone_ have any ides what could be happening?  I relly would
like to get this printer working rather than spending >$300 on a new
printer.
