Re: Grind FTP site

: Anyone with even half a clue about 65816 assembly can recognize
: these so-called sources as crude disassemblies and therefore illegal.

If these are "crude disassemblies" then I'm sure that they can't be
re-assembled without TONS of work, time, effort. It's very difficult to
disassemble OMF segments and get them to re-assemble into a usable
program. I haven't seen these "sources" but if they are what everyone
says they are, WHY THE BIG DEAL? They obviously CAN'T be used to
assemble ANYTHING useful. Therefore, no one's in any danger of someone
else "releasing" an executable with modified credits from a "disassembly".
I could download AZ, run Orca Disasm on it, save the generated source
code and I've got what was supposedly uploaded to Grind. Big deal, 100%
chance that it couldn't re-assemble. I would be more pissed if a
sector-edited copy of AudioZAP was uploaded called "TomTones" or something.

As a first resort in getting the stuff removed from Grind, Ian could have
just emailed a friendly letter to the admin of the site and explained the
situation and politely requested that the files be deleted rather than
"Delete these or I'll sue your ass!" I would have been more inclined to
honor the request than the demand.

Just my 2 cents worth.
