You could always buy the reference manual from Zilog.

Come to think of it, I don't know if they still sell the Z8530
reference manual - you might have to get a Z85230 manual, which is not
quite the same (more features).

I have both (Z8530 at home, Z85230 at work).


If you're thinking of directly accessing the SCC in the IIgs, think
very carefully before doing so.  It is NOT easy, and you should be
able to do almost anything you need (except high-speed comms) via the
serial firmware.  

If you are just interested in setting the speed of the SCC's baud rate
generator, that can be done with very little information.  If you want
to do anything more complicated, you will NEED the manual!
