Help in identifying cards and problems

G'day !

I guess that as the proud owner of two //c's (which I am taking with me
into the 21st century !), I am not well versed in slots and cards :-)
So, when I picked up this Apple II with a bunch of cards for my kid's
school, I had trouble identifying what was what, and how to get the thing
going. So I need your help in identifying some cards and trouble shooting.

The cpu definitely seems to be of the old Apple II (maybe II+) type. The
cpu on the motherboard is a 6502 (as opposed to the 65c02). The keyboard
has 51 keys, no up arrow, or down arrow key, no open or closed apple key.
There is a REP (repeat ?) key, and in the bottom left corner there is a
transparent key which latches in either down or up position and that has
a red LED in it (I suspect this is the caps lock key). First question:
without the open apple key, how do I do a warm reboot on this beast ?
Second question, what type of Apple is this ? How do I identify it ?
What software limitations will it have (like no ProDOS v.2 ...) ?

There was one card in a slot 0, some sort of RAM card, with the markings
"CMC 8305" on the back of the card. A ribbon cable connects it to a ram
chip socket on the motherboard, and it looks like the chip has been moved
to the card. Can the card be placed in any other slot ? Obviously not too
far from slot 0, 'coz the cable is short.

The other cards were not in slots.

Then there is a disk controller card. Says "Disk II Interface Card 650-X104"
on the card, and two "Super 5" drives are connected by ribbon cables. I guess
that goes in slot 6. Although when I do that, and turn on the computer, the
drives click, spin and then spin for ever. Should I suspect a damaged IC
on the card ? Or an unsuitable card ?

The 3rd card has a Z80 on it, and "CMC 8314" on it. I strongly suspect
a CP/M card :-) Which slot should this card go into ? It has a 4-switch DIP
switch next to the Z80, what are the settings required (they're all on OFF
right now) ?

The 4th card has "CMC 8311" written on it, and it has a big 40 pin IC,
with the following markings on it: "HD46505SP" and "HD6845SP", a Hitachi
chip. The card also has a 17.4MHz crystal, and in the corner opposite to
the slot connector, there is a 6 pin connector. I suspect this may be some
sort of communications card. The 6 pin connector had no cable connected
to it. What is this card, and in which slot should I put it ?

The last card is a serial printer interface card, which I deduced from the
cable. It has "APL B" written on it. I suppose it goes into slot 1.

Where I need trouble shooting help is that when I turn on the computer,
"APPLE ][" appears on the top of the screen, the drives spin, but then
nothing else happens except that the drives spin. They would spin forever
if I didn't pres control-reset (no open apple key, remember?), and then
I get the ] prompt. I can write an Applesoft Basic program. make it run,
but any DOS command causes an error message of course. PR#6 makes the drives
spin some more, with no result. I tried several disks, with both ProDOS and
DOS3.3, to no avail.

So, is there any help out there (what a stupid question :-) ?
