I used to have this problem also when I first got Proterm 3.0 using VT100
emulation.  Also, the arrow keys didn't work in vi for me either.  It was
due to problems with Proterm's VT100 emulator.  There is a fix for it on
the InTrec BBS which is a new vt100 emulator that you just drop in the
Proterm folder or disk.  Then all should work fine.  Or you could upgrade
to Proterm 3.1 which is worth the upgrade price of $30.00.  3.1 doesn't
have any major changes, but it does have a lot of small changes and new
features that really make it a lot easier to use if you bother to take
advantage of them.
