Actually, Trinitron RGB monitors have 1 electron gun also. This
eliminates the need for a bulky convergence correction system, as well
as defects like red fringing seen on GS RGBs. Any TV or NTSC monitor
can be converted into a perfectly fine RGB monitor that runs at the
60/15.7 scan rates, but it's fairly involved (much moreso than
converting a TV into an NTSC monitor since the internal voltages for
R/G/B after the demodulation matrix are generally a lot higher than what
the GS outputs, among other considerations).
