Reinventing the wheel?

I'm a GS programmer with 5 years assembly language
experience and I'm interested in programming the GS
for myself and other users. I have a few pet projects
that I'm working on that I KNOW would help me to use
my GS, but I have no clue whether other people have
any interest in them.

First, is a sound editor application with multi
scale simultaneous viewing, mouse moving/playing,
a synthesizer interface, live (real time)
echo effects (it's possible - I have a prototype),
repeating wave isolation, plus a few
other bells & whistles. I know there are a lot of
sound editors out there, it just seems to me that
none of them are all too powerful - the user ends up
doing most of the tedious work by hand.
(If I'm wrong on this, please tell me, because
I'd love to get my hands on a program that does
AT LEAST the things listed here.)

I'm also working on a graphic development system
for windows, buttons, & menus. It would be intuitive
to use - similar to Hyperstudio, with dialog boxes
and so forth, only on an assembly
language level. (Again, this has most likely
been done to death, but maybe not exactly the
way I see it).

I think there may be a use for a GS comm program
that can connect to "Macintosh only" links (designed
to be used with a human interface program) and
interpret the data into a "GS" interface.
(Theoretically, such a program is possible. Again,
I apologize if it's been done.)

Finally, I hope to work on a drawing/presentation
program similar to most multimedia programs. The
features of the program would hinge around the
fact that many colorful and beautiful effects can
take minutes if not hours by conventional tools.
This program would feature font gradation tools,
layering, animation filters (to create animated
effect morphing of still images), full access to
200 SCBs (3200 colors), multiple step undo, hard
code animation, font smoothers, sound
and all sorts of things which SHOULD
be in a graphics program but often aren't, at least,
in those for the GS.

Question #1: Is anybody interested in these projects,
if I decide to finish them?
A.K.A.: Am I just reinventing old wheels?

Question #2: Are there other projects which need
               volunteers or special attention?

I'd like to hear from as many people as possible
so I can obtain a wide variety of responses. If you
have a reply that is of general interest, please post
it. I welcome any and all personal correspondence
through email. Thank you.
