SCSI Expander woes -- HELP!

Back it May I purchased a 2.5" SCSI hard drive and also a
"SCSI Expander" card (from Memory Plus Distributors, MPD).
The SCSI Expander card simply holds the hard drive and provides
it power via the slot. Well, since having it I've had data
integrity problems (numerous files becoming corrupted) and
several times the hard drive has become unusable.

Well, I first thought it was Hardpressed that was to blame
since I had also purchased that at the same time. But
HardPressed was removed and the problems remained.

I pulled the SCSI Expander and examined it. The 50 pin connector
that the drive 'slides' onto has some solder 'bridges' across
some of the solder joints on the back side of the card.

Could these solder bridges be causing the problem? I really
like having this internal hard drive but I sure would like it
to WORK! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, the drive has been reformatted using the RAMFast Utilities
and repartitioned. But every time it eventually ends up with
corruptied files.

Some info: ROM 01 GS, 4Mb, System 6.0.1, ZipGS 10.5/64K, RamFast
rev. D 3.01e
