Many years ago, Jerry Pournelle mentioned some stuff he'd been sent
samples of, called, I think, 'Tweek' - he said it was sold as 'stuff for
making old electronics work like new', and that when he squirted a bit
into some connection that had been causing him endless grief, the problem
completely vanished - so he spent the next week squirting it into every
suspect electrical place he could think of, including the toaster. He
said that his house was now completely free of electrical odd-behaviour.
Sounds exactly like what's needed here. Whether it's still available, I
don't know, but if anyone can locate some, can you tell me where - I
think I could use it.
