AppleWorks GS 2.0 GONE ?

I cannot believe this message I saw in CompuServe, can anyone care to
give comments or shed some light into it ?

It's been reported and confirmed that Appleworks GS v 2.0 has been cancelled.
Sources have reported that the inability of a member of the programming team
to deliver essential code caused the project's demise.

I, for one, was looking forward to this program... bummer...
