There are several out there.... The two best known are the Family Roots
series from Quinsept, and the Family Tree program from Robert Merrill.
Both of these are commercial programs. I have also seen at least two
freeware/shareware programs that do limited descendant charts. I'd have
to hunt for them..

Comparing Family Roots to Family Tree is like comparing AppleWorks to
teachtext. Roots and AppleWorks are much more powerful, but more
complicated to learn to use. In addition, Roots is ProDos 8 and
seemingly does not like GS/OS. Family Tree is limited (although features
are still being added the last I knew), but faster, and easier to learn.
Roots is also significantly more expensive.

Quinsept also sells a less powerful program called Lineages. I have not
tried it.
