help needed

Does anyone know where to get a logic(mother) board for the appleIIgs it
seems like my machine's board is on the fritz?
It will run a number of games(Chessmaster 2000,paintworks for the IIgs,
Writers choice elite for the IIgs, Sea Strike but WILL NOT run apple works
or even the introduction the IIgs disk.

Apple works will start to boot up but will then lockup.

I have had it to a repair place and all they would say was that a new
board will solve the problem.

Does anyone know why this problem may be happening?
It seems weird that some programs will run perfectly using a fair block of
ram (I have a ram expansion card 1meg) but not even an older copy of
appleworks that I used on an apple][e will, run, it gets to the current
date and stops nothing but beeps. The system date is ok, I've checked that.
Any help or where to get a cheap replacement board would be greatly
appreciated.
Up her on the Island warmly refered to as the ROCK mail order is the only
recource.
