1. Many more megabytes are wasted arguing about moderating the group than
ever are spent on dont post messages here.
2. I see few of the dont post msgs here msgs any longer anyways.
3. Folks who have things to post don't care to sit around and wait for
for approval and distribution of software thru a moderation team - other
software groups that are moderated have basically come to a halt in terms
of the software distributed (see comp.sources.x, comp.sources.sun,
comp.sources.unix, comp.sources.misc, comp.sources.apple2 for a set
of examples).
4. To be frank, there isn't that much 'software' being posted any longer
for the Apple II anyways. There is quite a bit of GNO/ME software. But
other than that, how many _useful_ programs have been posted in the last
year? There's been a lot of music - but that could be posted elsewhere
anyways - same for graphics. The volume coming across c.b.a2 is no where
large enough to justify moderation. For that matter, the amount of
Apple 2 software being uploaded to AOL and CIS have declined to the
lowest levels I have seen in the 15+ yrs I have owned an Apple II.
