Mini-net

I have a spare IIe, Franklin 1200, and Apple II+.  I want to set up
a type of mini-network in the house with these machines and the 
3 Hayes Micromodems that I have.  I also have 2 SSC cards.  Is there
any way  can hook all of them up to send/receive information?

My plan is to have one in the basement (near my flagship IIGS),
one in the bedroom (2 floors up), and one somewhere else.  I have
some AppleSoft programming language knowledge, but physically how
would/could I hook them up?  I want someone upstairs to be able to
type a message, and the computer downstairs would beep a few times
and I would see the message.  Same for vice versa.  Both machines
have floppies.  And if the third computer could be added, that'd be
great too.
