I, too, disagree with Mr. Perlberger, but I couldn't help noticing that
you missed one of his points. He says that NT is not a "desktop" GUI
but a "workstation" GUI.
As for NT being any kind of "breakthrough", that attitude demonstrates
the common misconception that anything that isn't made by Microsoft
doesn't exist. I'm constantly pissed by having to go to demos of OS/2
and NT and resisting the urge to call out "Unix already had that 5
years ago" every 30 seconds.
