DOS 3.3 Directory repair

A client of mine has a busted DOS 3.3 hard disk - probably a corrupted
directory, and maybe damage to Track 0 - which he has asked me to fix,
and which (possibly unwisely) I have agreed to attempt.
 
However, it's been a dog's age since I even ran a DOS 3.3 program, much
less fiddled with a directory, and I can't even remember what the
directory-structure _is_. All I can remember is that it starts on Track
17, and a few details about file-types and stuff!
 
Now, I could probably do most of the job using ProZap, or the Inspector,
plus a bit of native intelligence, but I'm wondering if there are any
more-or-less 'automatic' directory analysis or reconstruction utilities
for DOS 3.3 on one of the ftp-sites? Does anyone remember such a utility,
or know where I might look, and what it might be called?
