I'm surprised that nobody knows about the System 601 Icons yet.  The standard
Icons for the different filetypes are in the Resource Fork of the Finder
program (called "START").  Editing these Icons with an Icon editor such as
Diced or Iconed is impossible.  You can edit these icons with Genesys. However,
Icons in the resource fork do not have attributes attached that you can edit,
IOW, you can't change the application name associated with the icon.

I have received LOTS of email on this question and 99% of the people resonding
have said the same thing, edit the icon file.  One or two people gave me the
correct fix, delete the "DESKTOP" file from the ICONS directory and the links
to applications will be fixed.

Hope this will clear things up for all the rest of the people who are still
in the dark.
