MIDI for the Apple IIe

I recently bought an unenhanced Apple IIe system with 128k memory, which I
would like to use as a MIDI sequencing system (I hooked a Roland
CMU 800 interface to the machine which we are planning to  use on
stage, but we have also some MIDI-synths, and if we already have a
computer on stage, why not use it as a sequencer). 
I remember that several years ago several systems has been available, 
but I can't remember any names or features of this systems. I would be
very grateful for any information about the IIe+MIDI or for hints
where I could get an interface+software or plans for building an
interface.
