waveLAB on cco?

When I ordered a LineLink 144e a few weeks ago, I asked whether it included
a high speed handshaking cable. I was told that it didn't, and the
MacWarehouse folk told me it didn't need one, because hardware handshaking
was built into the modem.

Since I mostly use ProTerm, I called InTrec to ask whether that was a "cock
and bull story" or whether I needed to purchase a hardware handshaking
cable. Jerry Cline told me that the true test of whether I needed that cable
would become apparent if Zmodem transfers failed.

It seems like I've had pretty good success with Zmodem, until I tried
waveLAB.10B.SHK from cco.caltech (the latest, from the uploads (?)
directory). I've tried it several times, and each time ShrinkIt GS reports
it to be damaged.

So, I'm wondering if the file on cco is corrupt, or whether I need a
hardware handshaking cable. Has anyone been able to download the new waveLAB
successfully from cco.caltech.edu?

TIA...
