Wanted: Info on A2 Internet Software

I am writing a story about the Internet for an A2 magazine. I should like
to include information about A2 Internet software (with current version #),
where to get it, how to configure it, and potential pitfalls. Do A2s have
any unusal problems with most hosts? Are they easy to set up? Are host
administrators knowledgeable of the A2 or do you have to help them through
it, too? If anyone might post such info directly, I would certainly credit
any quotes. Otherwise, maybe someone could tell me of a list, article, or
book which would be of help. By the way... as for "where to get it," FTP
sites do not count. This is for people who are currently not on the net!
Assume complete A2 ignorance on my part... I use a Mac box, and I may not
be familiar with certain things you tell me.

Also, if anyone has angles as to how the Internet is helping to keep alive
the A2 (or vice versa!), then please do tell. Again, I will credit any
quotes I use. Would also like "personal interest" stories... how YOU
specifically have benefited from your A2 and Internet. Might meet you
sometime in IRC A2 channel for an interview if needed.
