It depends what you mean by the "regular" controller card. The Apple
II UniDisk 3.5 Controller Card (the original one for the IIe) doesn't
support the Apple 3.5 Drive, only the UniDisk 3.5 Drive.
A UDC or SuperDrive Controller Card (Apple II 3.5 Disk Controller
Card) is required for an Apple 3.5 Drive. (Or a IIgs, or IIc+, of course.)
