I have upgraded a couple ZIP GSX and a Transwarp and used a v.small
flathead screwdriver and a paper clip to help. I did buy a PLCC
extractor but it didn't seem to fit. If your careful/gentle you should
be fine.

Welcome :). I did exactly the same thing and sold my lovely full
spec'd GS for a 486DX33 at the time...have been re-collecting since
the late 90's to get back what i had..lol
