I don't think it is your SOUND CDev resource being corrupted. I have this 
problem once, by deleting the SOUND CDev and reinstalling it solves my
problem.

Occasionally I do have certain configurations that SOUND CDev gives random
crashes to my system. But my current configuration (with almost all 6 Packs
modules installed and a lot of bells and whistles), it runs fine.
