I just extrapolated from a problem I had with METAL. For a long time I
couldn't get METAL to shutdown without having to hit control-reset.
This of course caused various reserved-memory problems, cutting my
ProTERM scrollback to under 20K eventually. It came to a point where I
was just going to wait for it to quit. Looking for something to do
while I waited, I saw my printer offline, put it online, and METAL quit
immediately.
Strange bug, but there must be a reason for it, right?
