    I wouldn't use the floptical as my primary storage device.  As long
as you plan to supplement your hard drive with a floptical, you should
be OK.  Think of it as a floppy drive that can hold 20 megabytes (rather
than a really slow 20-meg hard drive).  It's about 2 to 3 times faster
than an 800K drive.  Hy hard drive (120-meg Conner) boots more than
twice as fast as the floptical.  My system folder, applications,
downloads/uploads and GNO are on the hard drive.  Things like MODs,
SynthLAB tunes, verified downloads, Truetypes, games, etc. are kept
offline on floptical.  That way the 120-meg always has 20 to 30 megs
free.
