My DirectoryTree is FLAT!!! Help!

Does anyone out there in Apple //e land experienced this problem, and
what did you do to fix it? Format? Nooooooooo.

As stated in the header, my DirectoryTree off my main path has gone flat.
Many programs can access the subdirectories and files beneath the main
directories, however, Copy II+ is failing to recognize the 'depth'. Plus, some
of the file attributes are tweaked, i.e. locked files that aren't presented as
locked (*). When I catalog with Copy II+ all I get is a listing of the root,
nothing more. The directory files still have the filetype DIR and appear to be
okay, but, why won't Copy II+ react properly. I have tried v6.5, v8.2, and v8.3
and they all react similarly.
Oh, and I use a RAMdrive constantly; the software distributed by Quality
Computers with a QRAM //e. Could this be the problem. Also, I have only
experienced this side effect before on my RAMdrive, particularly since I haven't
had the hard drive very long, and it appears to happen after quitting ProTERM 3.1
or after using ShrinkIt 3.4. At least, it seems to be around the time. In fact,
I was just attempting to copy files from the GEOS boot disk (with invalid
pathnames including spaces and lowercase) using ShrinkIt. It refused to try, so,
I renamed the files to legal pathnames, which ShrinkIt also refused to comply
with. Next I ran Copy II+ and renamed the files, which it performed happily.
Next, I tried to copy the files from the boot disk to the hard drive; this is
when I noticed there was no depth! Help!

Thanks in advance,
