This has been suggested, and I know someone who's getting out of the Apple
biz, and if he'll sell his //e boards as cheap as he bought 'em, I might
be willing to give it a shot. Another thing I was thinking of (and someone
else suggested, which got me back to thinking of it) is a serial port network
for the //e, gs, etc. It could be made into a Prodos device (may require
losing disk ][ access though) so that you could access hard drives over a
simple rs-232 network. With a dedicated server it wouldn't take much in
special hardware. Peer to peer would require special adapters for each
serial card. Still if I knew that someone would pay for it, I'd give it a
try.

Talk to the CD ROM people...

Why? Because you only have 16 colors a line to work with. So you either end
up with poor 16 color images, or dither it to give you 16 DIFFERENT colors on
each line that result in a better looking picture. If you want better, you'll
have to improve the hardware, not the software. I don't think I could do
better than what currently exists. (However I have had requests for a non-
shell base JPEG viewer, but I think I'll wait on the reaction to the just
released version I read a message about.

Sure, I can give you one. Only problem is, it won't give you the answer until
after the drawing has occured.

So, you want the GS to emulate a power PC? Ok... Why? It could be done, but
it would be slower than slime growing on a shower wall.
