APPLE II MOUSE # MO100: CLEANING DIRTY SWITCH???
================================================
Each of my IIe and IIc Apples has a mouse. I keep the roller ball and the
three internal rollers operating smoothly with weekly disassembly and
cleaning.
One of the mice has a dirty or faulty switch. When I press the switch,
it clicks twice, sometimes. With some software this double-response makes an
incorrect menu selection.
QUESTION: Can the Apple mouse #MO100 be opened and the switch cleaned?
Will there be complications during reassembly? I once fixed faulty fire
buttons on an Apple joystick by spraying WD-40 spray lubricant under the
fire button caps. What substance should be used for cleaning the mouse
button?? Thanks; e-mail replies will be acknowledged. Stephen Buggie
