GS generated PostScript files - Fonts

I have been using PublishIt!4 to generate PostScript files on an Apple
IIc for years. I then print these files to a LaserWriter via a Mac
(Kinko's is great). Recently I have run into some problems with this
procedure. I have also recently bought a GS and learned how to make
PostScript files from GS/OS desktop programs. So now, I have several
questions about the GS PostScript files.

1.	What version of PostScript is included in the 6.0.1 LaserWriter
driver? Is it Level 1 or Level 2? What version number?

2.	Fonts: PublishIt!4 included a nice list of which PI4 fonts are
substituted by LaserWriter resident fonts. Which LW resident fonts are
substituted for which GS fonts, if any? How can I use the LW resident
fonts in my GS generated PostScript files without having it default to
Courier or Helvetica (or having it download the bit-mapped images of
	the GS fonts, yuk)?

Please forgive me if these questions are covered in the System 6 manual.
I dont have a manual since I got my 6.0.1 via ftp. BTW, where would
I get this manual, and is it worth it?

Kind of along the same lines, I would be interested in hearing from
people who use GS DTP programs. How does GraphicWriter III compare to
PublishIt!4? To AWGS page layout? What else is out there?

Thanks in advance. Please post responses since others may benefit, and
I'm too lazy to summarize.:)
