Artificaial life programs for Apples?

Are there any artificial life programs for Apples, especially
the IIgs?  Something like TIERRA would be excellent, but
a cellular automata program would be interesting, too.

I am interested in AL and would write or port the programs myself,
but the only programming environments I have are Applesoft, 
Logo II (both too slow), and the mini-assembler (egad - I don't 
even want to think about it :)).
