The latest verion of WordPerfect IIGS is 2.1 (and maybe a few minor
revisions... I have version 2.1e ). Aside from it NOT supporting Fonts
(only whatever text built-in to your printer), I still find it is the most
full-featured word processor for the Apple IIgs. It's the only one I've
found that can handle 50+ page documents without barfing. If you have
large documents, need of footnotes or binding width, quoted paragraphs
(i.e. indenting left and right margins) or an on-line thesaurus then
Wordperfect would probably serve you well. I've even had it running
under System 6.0 with "The Manager Demo" (or "Switch-It Demo") without
problem.
The major shortcomings of Wordperfect IIgs are (1) it does not support
system fonts, (2) it's slow if you are a touch-typist, and (3) you need
the manual handy for the more obscure features.
If most of what you type is under 10 or so pages and you like the
fancy font stuff, then you can probably do better with AWGS or Graphic-
Writer III or similar word processor.
