I don't know about the QC cable.  However, the problem is that not all
"Mac HWHS" cables are identical.  (Figure that one out ...)  Right now
I'm using a "Mac HWHS" cable between my IIgs and USR 14.4k baud modem,
but it was the _fourth_ "Mac HWHS" cable I tried.  My final method to
find this cable was to shop locally and test the cable with a multimeter
(or continuity tester) before buying it.  The local cost was slightly
higher than mail-order, but was worth it in terms of less hassle (WRT
returns) and reduced waiting time.
