    According to Drew at CVTech, the extra space needed to bring the
floptical's capacity to 20480K must have come from the disk's "scrap
space".  SCSI devices reserve a certain amount of disk blocks for use
when it detects a bad block elsewhere on the volume.  When one is found,
it is marked as bad and remapped to a spare block.  All this is done
transparently to the user.  So to be same, I should low-level format the
floptical (but that takes over 20 minutes).
