Appleworks 4.0.1 / Ultramacros 4.3

Hi.  I am having some problems with the above mentioned programs, and
was hoping someone might be able to help me with them.  

1.  I want to customize the default macros, but can't.  There is an
error in the default macros in ba-] (or maybe it's ba-[), so that even
if I don't make any changes after decompiling the macros, I get an error
when I recompile them.  The area that gets flagged as an error is:
.... "= $ $117   :" ...
I tried deleting the lone $, and was able to recompile, but then the
machine would crash whenever I loaded AppleWorks.  Any ideas?

2.  I have a database that won't remember record selection rules in
report formats.  While in the report screen, I go and define some record
selection rules, but when I hit escape to go back to the report screen
it goes back to All Records.  I have some databases where this does
work, so I have no idea why it won't work in this case.

3.  This one is a problem with the program, but I thought I'd mention it
anyway.  I have a date category in a database that I would like to use a
mask on.  I used:  $$.$$.$$ (where $ = number).  This works fine, but
after AppleWorks changes it to the date format it looks like this:
De. 1. 1.93 (or something close to that).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Also, if you know of a way I
could reach some at Quality Computers on the net to report #3, please
let me know.  Michael Heintz are you here in an official capacity?
