Duo Disk

Does the Apple Duo disk work with the current Apple // computers (apple //c,
//gs, enhanced //e)?  I have an unenhanced //e that I am upgrading but it came
with a Duo disk ... I hooked it to my gs and it would not recognize it.  Does
this mean when I upgrade the //e I will have to get another disk drive?
