I was playing with the RamFAST's "Backup to HD" option yesterday and
stumbled upon something. I was trying to backup my 20480K boot
partition onto a floptical. At first, I didn't think it would work, but
I tried it anyway. After the backup, the RamFAST had reported 11 errors
total, but an otherwise complete backup. Satisfied that the option
actually does work with a floptical, I erase it. To my surprise, both
the Finder and the RamFAST utility offered me a 20-megabyte partition
(exactly 20480K, not 19.8 megabytes). This seemed a little unlikely,
but I proceeded anyway and then did a block verify with the Finder. All
40960 blocks verified without error. I would have thought that the ones
past the 19.8-meg limit would have given an error. So it *appears* that
I have a full 20 megabytes on one floptical.
