I've had my GS for about five years now and I have never seen the
$0911 error (knock on wood :) ).  At any rate, I've got a ROM 01 and
have been running my //gs for a couple months on System 6.0.1.  No
problems. The computer has even run over night - no problems.

It does indeed sound like a heat problem.  I do not put anything on
top of the //gs and I leave the lid cracked just a bit.  Since the
heat can escape easily, I think that is why I'm not having the
problems you seem to be having.  Try leaving the lid off for a while
and see if that clears up the problem (ie:It doesn't re-occur).  If
it works, then your best bet is to try leaving the lid propped up or
moving to a larger container (like the IBM case thing posted here a
while back).  With something as large an an IBM's case you will have
the necessary room for heat dissipation. :)  Even if it IS in an IBM
case. :/
