Wow!
This group is really something! I want to thank everyone who welcomed
me to the group with lots of responses to my post about mail-order and
magazines. This is one of the friendliest, most responsive groups I've seen!
Now, I do have some more questions for you guys here, though...
1. How do I know how to set the dip switches on my super serial card
for different devices (like modems, printers, etc.)? Also, do I need to get 2
super serial cards for my IIe in order to have a serial printer and a serial
modem at the same time? Is there a book I can get for dip switch configs?
2. I've been thinking about which accelerator to buy for my IIe. I've
heard a lot of good things about TransWarp, and not much about the Zip Chip.
Can someone give me a comparison of the two? (Advantages, Disadvantages, Tech
Info, etc.)
3. Now that I'm getting back into my old IIe, I naturally want to get
some of my old games! I had working copies of 2 of my favorite games, but they
are now lost. My 2 all-time favorites are "Castle Wolfenstein" (ofcourse) and
"Titan Empire"- I don't know if any of you have heard of the latter. It was
really one of the best ever made. Can someone tell me where I can find these
games? Are they now shareware? Is there anyplace that still carries these
games/others? Or, are there any generous people who would be willing to make
copies for me in exchange for money, disks, etc?
4. Can someone tell me any history/tech info on the black "bell/Howell"
Apple computer? IS it just an Apple II with a new color and nameplate or what?
Please e-mail responses. Thanks a million in advance!
