Actually, I wouldn't trust the speed of the waveform generated with
a IIGS sound card unless I checked it as you did for the Phasor.  I know
for a fact that the software that comes with Audio Animator doesn't play
sounds recorded at the highest speed at the proper frequency.  How do
I know this?  Simple.  I bought the card so I could loop guitar riffs
until I learned them (I play by ear) and found that playback is much
faster at the higher speed setting.  This makes it impossible to tune
at the proper pitch (as recorded originally) and riff along with the
music.  Sure, I could have tuned up, but that puts more stress on the
neck of the axe.  I never bothered with the idea after finding this out
as playing at slower speeds with the loss of fidelity really got to me.  

I was hoping for the Pro version of ECON card but that dream went up
in a heap, too.
