Obviously the person doesn't care about a quadra whatever or he wouldn't have
bought the GS. Anyway, if $700 is too much, you don't have to spend $700.
4Megs Ram (Seq. Sys) - $110
ZIP 7Mz/8k cache - $140
Apple SCSI - $100
Quantum 127 ELS (ext)- $250
------
600
Furthermore, you don't have to get a Zip now. You can get it later if at all.
The hard drive can be used on another computer later if desired. So get a
240 MEG hard drive for $320 and don't worry about getting a Zip GSX now.
And if you're really strapped for cash, only buy 4 Megs of Ram. Use 2 to 2.5
megs for a Ram disk and leave the GS on if you use it a lot. I did this for a
while before having a hard drive and it is plenty quick and not too much a pain
in the rear because putting the system disk on the Ram Disk eliminates most
disk swapping.
