I am having a hell of a time getting my IIgs to print to a networked Personal
Laserwriter NT from applications like printshop IIgs or Children's writing and
Publishing center. Here's what I've got and what I've done. I'm sure I'm doing
something wrong but I'm not sure what:
1) Running 6.0.1
2) Have an earlier IIgs, ROM 01 I think (256k on motherboard)
3) Have slot 7 configured for Appletalk
4) Have slot 1 set to my card (and tried setting it to printer)
5) Selected the Network Printer control panel and downloaded the
imagewrter II emulator. I get the response that it is looking to see if it was
installed and then it installs it.
The IIgs sees the printer because it can print to it from native IIgs apps like Appleworks GS (with slot 1 set to my card and 7 set to appletalk).
at this point in time is where I'm stuck. I've been told to set slot 1 to the
printer and let the application (Print shop) thinks its printing to an IWII.
Trying this, the application thinks its printing of, but nothing is getting to the printer (ie the lights on the printer aren't flashing.)
Is there anything obvious that I'm doing wrong.
Any words of wisdom will be appreciated.
