Installing a GS in a PC case............

}}Cool! How did you manage to mount it? Will the GS mounting holes line up
}}with the case, and what size case are you using? Instead of buying a
}}heavy-duty GS power supply I shoulda bought a PC case w/ ultra-big PS... for
}}less than the new GS power supply cost... :(

	Here is the scoop:

	I'm using a mid size desktop case. The GS motherboard barely fits.
	One problem is that you will have to make small jumpers to go from
	the ports on the GS motherboard to the PC case back. (Which I'm not
	done with yet because lack of time). Otherwise its easy and here is how.


	Qty    Materials I needed
	-----------------------------------------------------------
	   1      Piece plexiglass (or sheet plastic) 9" x 14"
         6 to 9   Nylon or teflon standoffs 1/2" long for #6 screws
	 6 to 9   #6 Nylon/teflon screws 3/4" to 1" long with nuts
	   ?      screws to atach the plastic/plexiglass to the PC mounts
	   a little  plastic epoxy to attach the nuts to the plastic/plexiglass
		  drill and bit that is just bigger than a #6 screw
            1     pen that writes on plastic.

	    Procedure that I usedProcedure::
	    --------------------------------------------------------

	    1) lay the plexiglass/plastic in the PC case (it may need to be 
	       trimmed)
  
            2) mark the holes needed to mount the plastic on the PC standoffs.

	    3) Remove the plastic form the case and drill the holes where you 
	       marked them.

            4) Replace the plastic and make sure that the holes line up.  If not
	       gently adjust the holes so that they do line up.

            5) Fasten the plastic to the PC case and tighten the screws until 
	       snug.
 
            6) Lay the GS motherboard on the plastic and position it as desired.

	    7) Mark the holes that you are going to use to support the
	       motherboard. (Remember to give plenty of support around the slots
	       including the memory expansion slot) Use as many as you feel n
	       necessary to do it (you may need to adjust the materials needed
	       to accomodate it).
 
            8) Remove the Gs motherboard and set it aside.  Next drill the 
		holes as marked.

             9) Replace the motherboard to make sure that the holes line up.
		After doing so remove the motherboard again and set it aside.

 
	    10) Remove the plastic from the case and proceed to epoxy the nuts
		to the bottom of the plastic. (It may also be desirable to epoxy
		   the standoffs to the top of the plastic).

 	    11) After the epoxy is completely dry then install the plastic back
		in the case. Next install the GS motherboard onto the standoffs
		 with the teflon/nylon screws.

	To attach the GS to the PC power supply:
	-----------------------------------------------
	1) you'll need a plug like the one on the GS power supply (or if yo
	   have a dead one use it from the GS power supply)
        
        2) You need to connect the plug to the PC power supply as follows.

      Back left cornor of the GS motherboard:
      ______________
      |
      |       o -5v
      |       o-12v 
      |       o +12v
      |       o  +5v
      |       o  nothing
      |       o  ground
      |       o  ground

	This is not to scale!

	Then You are on your way! You'll need to make short extension cables
so that your ports can mounted in the back of the PC case (and hence usable)

	After all is said I've got to split to class!
