Re: Quickie Scanner problem
In a previous article, dcrutch@coplex.coplex.com (Dan Crutcher) says:
>With exception of RamKeeper, I have same basic hardware. I ran Quickie
>(latest version -- 3.1, I think) the other day from 6.0.1. No problems.
Curious, Jeanne Chappel replied that she'd had exactly the same problem while
using Quickie 3.1; however, she does have a ROM 03 machine.

Yeah, this is pretty well my standard first step.

Yes, the RamKeeper is pretty much superfluous when you have a RamFast but not
for incompatibility. The RamFast inserts a delay in the boot process
which affect every boot device, including the RamKeeper ROMdisk. Eliminating
the advantage of lighning fast bootup is the only loss. However, if you are
looking for ways to maximize your system memory then the RamKeeper is still
very useful. Since I am content with 5Megs I am in the process of selling my
RamKeeper as soon as I get a decent offer.
