"Don't need" is a misstatement. I prefer to do it this way. The majority of
my computer usage is with Proterm and Appleworks classic. Having to do the
'extra' step (i.e. hitting the 8 key) most of the time rather than a similar
'extra' step (i.e. booting GSOS) some of the time seems an unworthy
compromise. If the majority of my time were spent in desktop applications
then the built-in feature would be the best no doubt.
