Re: How well do you like your RamFast card?

I only have one complaint. In my particular setup, the RamFast actually slows
down the boot process. I have a RamKeeper ROMdisk which I like to use as the
boot device. I normally boot into 8bit Prodos since most of my computing time
is spent with Appleworks and Proterm. With the CMS card and drive I had before
the ROMdisk boot was fast enough that the system was up and running almost
before the monitor display was warmed up. With the RamFast that is no longer
true. Even when booting from the ROMdisk straight into 8bit Prodos the RamFast
halts the boot sequence until the harddrive is up to speed and ready to use.
This adds several seconds to the process. It's enough of a delay that I
originally thought the drive or card was defective (I bought it second hand
without docs). On the plus side, I no longer have the occasional problem of
"losing" the harddrive by trying to access it before it gets up to speed. The
CMS card was very annoying in that respect.
